Bowman acquires MPC sintering

17 March 2010

Bearings and sintering specialist Bowman International has acquired most of the assets of the sintering division of MPC Industrial Solutions, which went into administration in October last year.

This follows Bowman’s acquisition of Oilite Bearings Ltd, a manufacturer of self-lubricating bearings and sintered components, which also went into administration at the end of 2008.

This is the second acquisition by Bowman in the last year, following its earlier purchase of Oilite Bearings Ltd. The acquisitions strengthen Bowman's prominent position in the sintered parts market and will greatly expand its export sales.

"We are delighted to be making another substantial addition to our business," said Bowman managing director Paul Hancock. "It means we can offer customers an even better service and an even wider range of components."

MPC Industrial Solutions, based in Derbyshire, UK, formerly known as EGA Sinter, produced structural sintered iron parts and iron bearings for a wide range of applications worldwide, including motor cycles, power tools, vacuum cleaners, motor vehicles, water pumps.
