New improved MIM furnaces

16 November 2009

Centorr Vacuum Industries has introduced two new full size metal injection moulding furnaces.

The new MIM-Vac furnaces units will be built in 18x18x36 (450x450x900mm) size and 18x18x48 (450x450x1200mm) size, specifically for the production needs of the medical MIM market.

The company says that the MIM-Vac M (modular design) has a number of design improvements including advanced Molybdenum hot zones with "wide-flow" gas-plenum retorts using for consistent gas flow dynamics over all parts.

The furnaces also have a dry mechanical pumping system with CVI's proprietary T/P (trap over pot) binder condensing trap which can handle any binder. Molybdenum alloys in the hot zone and retort offer improved creep resistance, higher recrystallization temperatures, and longer service life.
