With the Chinese PM market shipping close to 200,000T a year, it is vital that foreign companies understand the Chinese domestic market, the show organizers suggest.
The show, which took place at the Shanghai Everbright Convention & Exhibition Center from 24-25 April 2012 featured over 100 exhibitors and thousands of visitors attended. Chinese companies were able to show off new equipment and powder while the international companies, including some of Europe and America’s biggest players, also attracted attention from local businesses and visitors.
Every aspect of the PM process from atomizing and tooling to pressing and sintering was represented, while metal injection moulding materials and equipment were also on display from companies such as Arburg, BASF, and Only.G. Powder suppliers covered iron, aluminium, copper, nickel, tungsten, titanium, cobalt, and high speed steel and sample powders and demonstrations were available.
The event also included presentations from niche market leaders, such as Norilsk Nickel, which shed light on its specific role in the PM world and new capabilities for their portion of the market. Mate Consulting offered insight on new developments in the MIM market and SMS Meer discussed its new hydraulic presses. BASF gave a presentation on their Catamold feedstock system.
