Sumitomo intros SEC-grooving tools

Sumitomo Electric will introduce its SEC-Grooving Tools GND Type in April with high-rigidity bodies and high-precision inserts.

Sumitomo says the tools have higher efficiency and accuracy and longer tool life than previous types, improving grooving efficiency and reducing costs.

The tools feature:

  • Five types of chipbreaker for good chip control and various machining processes;
  • High-rigidity single-piece holders constructed of special steel to reduce vibration during machining; and
  • High-precision sintered inserts for improved machining accuracy.
