China exported 14,750 tonnes of rare earth in 2011

China’s rare earth exports totalled 14,750 tonnes in the first 11 months of 2011, accounting for 49% of total export quotas, according to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.

The Ministry says large quantity of most export quotas still lay idle, but that in order to guarantee international market demand and keep rare earth supplies basically stable, export quota of 2012 are equal to that of 2011.

MOFCOM will split the first batch of the 2012 quota into light and medium-to-heavy categories of rare earth.
