ITW takes Quasar

Illinois Tool Works Inc. (ITW), of Glenview, Illinois, has purchased Quasar International Inc, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, for an undisclosed amount. Quasar will continue operating as an independent company within the Magnaflux division of ITW. Magnaflux supplies magnetic particle and dye penetrating equipment, and chemicals used for nondestructive testing. Quasar invented process compensated resonant testing (PCRT), a new nondestructive test method. ITW will advance PCRT technology and expand Quasar’s manufacturing and service infrastructure.
