Miba strengthens China offering

Austrian PM component maker Miba AG, based in Laakirchen, last month opened a new plant, Miba Precision Components China, in the Suzhou Industrial Park, about 50 km outside Shanghai.. The company has invested €10 million in the plant and will produce bearings and PM parts for the Asian market.
“Miba has been a player in the Chinese market for 20 years,” said CEO Peter Mitterbauer.
“This new plant enables us to establish even closer ties with our customers and to optimally meet growing demand. At the same time this internationalisation safeguards our Austrian base.”
Its customers include Chinese automakers and engine producers and subsidiaries of European and American automakers and component manufacturers. The company expects to significantly increase the initial workforce of 40 employees in the future.
