Copper powder boost in Russia
The move has been prompted by rising demand in domestic and international markets.
The company is to invest Rb 5.5 million (about $220 000) in this project. Preparations are currently underway to roll out additional production facilities and another 34 electrolysis baths are expected to be added to the 102 which are currently operational. The equipment needed such as rod cathodes used in electrolysis baths, are being manufactured.
Uralelectromed is currently one of the largest producers in the world of copper electrolytic powder and the only domestic producer. It manufactures over 30 different grades of powder and more than 50 Russian and foreign companies from the metal powder industry, instrument and machine engineering and aircraft and chemical industries are among its customers. The company exports approximately 50per cent of its products overseas.
