More anneal in Romania
US iron powder giant Hoeganaes Corporation is to install a second 1500mm continuous annealing furnace at its Buzău, Romania facility.
The furnace will be operational in the second quarter of 2008. the equipmewnt was originally installed at the company’s Riverton, New Jersey, facility and is being refurbished at Buzau before installation.
The annealing expansion follows the recent installation of a 20-ton blending facility at the Buzău plant. Both of these facilities complement the blending and warehouse operation at Hoeganaes Corporation’s Hückeswagen plant in Germany.
Tom Witheford, managing director of Hoeganaes Corporation Europe, said: “The annealing expansion provides us with additional capacity to support our long-term growth in this critical PM market.”
